Wouldn't you just like to know the plot line for
this brand spanking new Melodrama. Well ... you are just going to have to wait
until this fall. The play opens in 1938 with a grandmother and her grandchildren
looking at an old radio awaiting the weekly broadcast of the San Juan Radio
Theatre's continuing saga about "San Juan Rangers". It is a broadcast she has
been waiting almost 50 years for ... but that is already giving up too much
information.
As the Prologue continues ... we see a broadcast booth readying
itself to go on the air. The actors have their own issues and once the broadcast
begins the lights in the booth fade as lights on the stage reveal actors giving
life to the radio drama. Needless to say (then why did I say that?) ... the
Melodrama
is about a "lawman" that has been tempted by a "Villainess". Will this
trustworthy "San Juan Ranger" make the tough decision to do what is "right" or
will he choose to
do what is "easy".
